Papaya leaves are just as healthy as the Papaya fruit. These bitter leaves are powerful healers as they have large deposits of phytonutrients.  These nutrients have phenolic compounds, alkaloids and papain that act as strong antioxidants that make the immune system stronger.

Papaya Leaves Control Diabetes

For those who are having trouble controlling their blood sugar levels, take papaya leaf extracts due to the following reasons:

  • The leaves lower glucose.
  • The antioxidant compounds reduce diabetes complications such as kidney damage, liver damage and oxidative stress.
  • Papaya leaf extracts fasten the healing time of a wound due to the antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

Papaya Leaves are Anti-Dengue

Dengue fever is a viral fatal disease that is spread by the Aedes mosquito. Symptoms of this fever include joint pains, lethargy, headaches, muscle pain and high fever. All these symptoms are clear five or seven days after infection. Every year, millions of people suffer from dengue fever and the shocking fact is that there is no known cure for it. The good news is, you can treat dengue fever with papaya leaves by following this process:

  • Get some fresh papaya leaves especially the younger ones that can be found at the lower parts.
  • Get the leaves from an actual papaya plant. There are toxic plants that resemble papaya.
  • Wash the leaves while removing the fibrous stem.
  • Place the leaves in a juicer or crush them to extract the juice.

Drink the juice two times a day on an empty stomach. Dilute with water if you cannot handle the bitter taste.
