Gout is a kind of arthritis and is characterized by recurring symptoms such as tenderness, redness, warmth and swelling of the joints. This is caused by high acidic levels in the blood where the acids become crystals that are deposited in tendons, joints and surrounding tissues.

While medication is available to treat gout, home remedies can be prepared to manage the condition.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

ACV is one of the gout remedies because its acidic properties act as analgesic to relieve acute pain. Add a teaspoon of raw ACV to a glass of water and consume it two or three times a day. You can add some honey to increase the body’s anti-inflammatory response.

Baking Soda

Baking soda can e used to relieve gout pain but it may take up to two days for the benefits to take full effect. Add a half teaspoon of baking soda into 8 ounces of water and drink the mixture in one go. Drink this mixture two or three times a day and reduce the dose as the pain goes down. Do not exceed four teaspoons of baking soda per day.

Fish Oil

Fish has omega-3 fatty acids that have anti-inflammatory effects in the body. Fish oil is also good for arthritis and cardiovascular diseases.

Use these ingredients to manage gout but you should get medical help for proper assessment, planning and implementation.
