Au Gratin Potatoes

If you like potatoes as a side dish then au gratin are a great choice. You can slice with a mandolin slice if you don’t have a steady hand. You require the following ingredients:

Cream

Cheese

Butter

Instructions

Place the ingredients in a large baking dish

Layer the sliced potatoes on the dish

Bake them until tender in the center or when the cheese is bubbling.

Mashed Potatoes

This is the most popular way to prepare potatoes, you can make them creamy, with texture or smooth, or anyway you like it. You need the following:

Hot Milk

Russet Potatoes (or any kind of potato)

Instructions

Boil the potatoes in salted water

Mash them once they become tender

Add hot milk while you mash and keep them hot the entire time.

Baked Potatoes

Removing the skin of the potato does not cut the amount of calories in it. For healthy potatoes, just serve them with plain nonfat Greek yogurt after baking. Add salsa that has fresh herbs and skip the chili, sour cream and cheese.

French Fries

French fries are not healthy but you can make them healthy by baking them instead of frying. Russet potatoes are the best. Cut them into wedges and place them on the baking sheet and apply some olive oil. Season with pepper and salt and bake them in the oven at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes.
