4 Major Red Flags of Heart Attack

It is a fact that about 25% of heart attacks occur silently with no clear or recognizable symptoms. Studies have shown that the heart sends potential heart attack warnings well before the attack occurs. Dr. C. Crandall unearthed the following four signs:

Many people think that swelling of the ankles and feet is as a result of too much standing. What they don’t know is that heart failure also causes the buildup of fluid in the body especially in the legs, abdomen, feet and ankles. Some people accumulate so much fluid that they gain weight almost immediately. When this happens, many people lose their appetite.

Anxiety attacks are a common event among people who go ahead to experience a heart attack. Some people who experience anxiety attack actually think that they are having a heart attack.

Pain throughout the Body

Many heart attack victims experience sharp pain that starts in the chest region, and then goes to the jaw, the back, then to the shoulders, arms and stomach. The pain comes and goes but never let it fool you.

Some heart attack victims experience might start coughing blood while others get a nagging or whizzing cough. They experience these coughs due to the buildup of fluids in the lungs.

Never ignore these symptoms and hope that they will go away on their own. If these symptoms last for over 10 minutes call 911 fast or have someone drive you to the nearest medical center.
